The Boyd volleyball program beat Wylie at the JV, 9A and 9B level. The varsity lost a match against a rowdy Wylie crowd for their middle school night.

This Friday will be Boyd's last home volleyball game. We will have our Senior night and it will also be Middle School night. Come out and support your Lady Broncs!

The McKinney Boyd Volleyball Team came out victorious earning their first district win against the Wylie Pirates

Kills: Howley 18, Cisar 10, Lovern 8, Darling 7
Blocks: Howley 5
Assists: Turman 40
Aces: Turman 3, Howley 3, Frizzell 3, Hettish 2, Darling 1, Muckenthaler 1

The JV and Freshman Navy teams also won.

The McKinney Boyd Lady Broncs Volleyball Team easily defeated DeSoto High in three games with scores of 25-15, 25-8, and 25-16 on DeSoto's home court.

Senior outside hitter Melissa Ingebreston led the Lady Broncs with 13 kills and only one error. Middle hitters Cara Howley and Christina Cisar each had 10 and 8 kills respectively. Calling plays was senior setter Kelsey Turman who had 35 assists running a 5-1 offense.

The team had a strong showing with a number of aces led by senior Allison Frizzell with 3; Sarah Hettish, 2; and Turman, Howley, and Ingebretson with one each. Showing her usual strength in defense as the team's Libero, Frizzell led Boyd with 13 digs, and Turman followed with 8.

JV and Freshmen Navy teams also won.

The Lady Broncs had a full program sweep tonight. All teams played very well and took home a victory. Varsity beat John Horn High School in 3 games with scores of 25-23, 25-23, and a resounding 25-12 last game.

JV beat John Horn High School, and both Freshmen teams took home their first district win against Williams High School.

The McKinney Boyd Volleyball Team had a fabulous defensive night against Sachse High School. Senior, Allison Frizzell, led the team with 26 digs. Sarah Hettish and Melissa Ingebretsen both had 12 digs apiece. Christina Cisar had three blocks. The Lady Broncs came up a little short in the end, losing the match with the scores of 27-25, 22-25, 20-25, 16-25.

As a team, McKinney Boyd had 33 kills and 72 digs.

The sub-varsity teams all took home a victory and continue to play well. Please see the attached spreadsheet for more sub-varsity results.

The Lady Broncs will be back in action at home on Tuesday night, September 23rd at 6:30 p.m. when they play Flower Mound.

Congratulations to Varsity, JV, Freshmen Red and Freshmen Navy Lady Bronc volleyball teams as they beat Robert E. Lee on Friday Night.

The varsity Lady Bronc team continued to perform well as it defeated Robert E. Lee 3-0 on Friday night.
In the first match, the Lady Broncs took the sets by scores of 25-7, 25-22 and 25-22.

Junior Cara Howley led the team with 14 kills as she hit .370. Seniors Alley Lovern and Melissa Ingebretsen played well for a .429 hitting percentage. Kelsey Turman had 41 assists and three aces. Sarah Hettish and Allison Frizzell added 19 and 18 digs, respectively.

As a team, McKinney Boyd had 45 kills and 65 digs.

The Lady Broncs will be back in action at home on Tuesday night, September 23rd at 6:30 p.m. when it plays Flower Mound.

Save the date!
Wellness Rally is Saturday, Sept. 27, 9:45 at Towne Lake Park. This is not mandatory, but I encourage the all of the volleyball girls to participate. Plus, it is great fun!
